Volunteering

Giving back to your community is an important part of being a professional. There are so many people that can't afford the things we take for granted. Whether you make the effort as a company or by yourself, it is amazing how much of a difference we can make by helping out someone in need.

NHLA occasionally sponsors a Community Service Project, in which members gather together to do a landscape for a non-profit organization. If you would like to participate in such a program, please contact one of our board members.

If you know of a non-profit looking for such a service, they will need to submit an application to the NHLA Board of Directors.

Here are some other resources for ways to give back:

United Way maintains a calendar of volunteer opportunities in your communities. They have a search feature to assist you in finding the perfect opportunity.

The Nature Conservancy is always looking for volunteers to assist them through the state. To see the most recent listing of opportunities click here.

The New England Wildflower Society (NEWFS) is always looking for help with several initiatives. Click here for more information.

If you are aware of an organization that is looking for volunteers and would like to add them to the above list - email Carolyn Isaak, editor [at] nhlaonline.org.
